Life presents us all with challenges. Some are easier to navigate than others. When faced with obstacles it is easy to fall into negative thinking patterns, which can lead to feeling stuck and alone. This can contribute to symptoms of anxiety and depression. Together we will look at what may be triggering your current feelings and explore how to become unstuck in order to find connection and meaning in your life. I find immense joy in helping people identify their strengths and explore what may be getting in the way of moving forward. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in CT and NY. I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from New York University and have been working in the field of social work for over 25 years. I have experience working with children, teens, families and adults.
In our first session I will be asking questions in order to gain a sense of how i can best help. Once I have a better understanding of what issues are bringing you into therapy, we will work together to identify therapy goals.
My biggest strengths are my ability to create a compassionate therapeutic space where people feel understood and supported without fear of judgement. My hope is that you will come away with a better understanding of yourself and the tools to cope with challenging life situations.
We will look at how your past may be impacting your current symptoms with the goal of increasing your self awareness and insight. We will work on recognizing patterns in your behavior and relationships that may have contributed to your current struggles
I will provide a safe, nonjudgemental space for your to examine your thoughts and feelings. i will be there to support and guide you in your process of self discovery.
We will use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors influence each other. We will look at changing your thinking patterns as a means of helping to decrease your anxiety.
