About me

Hi, I'm Beatrice Augustave, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. As a bilingual therapist fluent in both English and Haitian Creole, I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for every individual who walks through my (virtual or physical) door. I specialize in working with youth, adolescents, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges rooted in childhood trauma, identity, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in compassion, cultural understanding, and a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit. Whether you're dealing with emotional difficulties, struggling to find your voice, or just looking for someone to talk to, my goal is to walk alongside you in your healing journey — making sure you feel heard, supported, and truly seen. You're welcome here.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time — but my goal is to make our first session as comfortable and welcoming as possible. In our initial session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your personal history, and any specific concerns or goals you’d like to work on. There’s no pressure to share everything right away — we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. This session is also a chance for you to ask questions and see if I’m the right fit for your needs. We’ll talk about how therapy works, discuss confidentiality, and explore what you hope to gain from our work together. Whether you’re feeling nervous, hopeful, or unsure, know that this is a safe space where you will be met with empathy, understanding, and respect. You don’t have to go through this alone — and our first session is the first step toward healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets me apart as a therapist is the combination of cultural sensitivity, compassion, and a personalized approach to healing. I bring not only clinical experience but also deep empathy and a strong belief in the power of connection and trust in the therapeutic relationship. Here are a few of my greatest strengths: Culturally Competent & Bilingual Care As a bilingual (Haitian Creole/English) therapist with a multicultural background, I offer a space where clients from diverse cultures feel seen, heard, and understood. I understand how cultural values, family dynamics, and identity can shape our experiences — and I incorporate that awareness into every session. Building Trust with Youth and Teens I have a natural ability to connect with children and adolescents, helping them feel safe enough to open up and express themselves. Whether they’re dealing with behavioral issues, trauma, or identity concerns, I create a nonjudgmental space where young people can begin to heal. Affirming & Inclusive Approach I proudly serve LGBTQ+ individuals with a therapeutic approach that is affirming, respectful, and deeply supportive. My goal is to empower clients to embrace their true selves without fear or shame. Trauma-Informed Care I specialize in helping clients work through the lasting impact of childhood trauma, domestic violence, and emotional wounds. Using evidence-based techniques, I help individuals process their pain, develop coping strategies, and regain control of their lives. Real, Relatable, and Warm Clients often tell me they appreciate how “human” I am — down-to-earth, compassionate, and easy to talk to. Therapy with me is not about judgment or labels, but about walking alongside you, with honesty and heart, as you navigate life’s challenges. My goal is always to help you feel empowered, valued, and supported — every step of the way.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are children, teens, and young adults who are navigating life’s challenges and looking for a supportive space to heal, grow, and thrive. I work especially well with: Youth and adolescents facing emotional struggles, behavioral challenges, or trauma from early life experiences. LGBTQ+ individuals seeking a safe, affirming therapist who understands the complexities of identity, coming out, and building healthy relationships. Clients from Haitian or multicultural backgrounds who value culturally competent, bilingual (Creole/English) support. Individuals working through childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem, who are ready to explore their emotions and develop healthier coping strategies. Parents and caregivers who need support understanding and responding to the emotional and behavioral needs of their children or teens. Women in distress, whether facing life transitions, relationship issues, or emotional overwhelm. Couples seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust, or strengthen their connection. Survivors of domestic violence who are ready to process their experiences in a safe and nonjudgmental space. Veterans adjusting to civilian life or managing the psychological impact of service-related experiences. No matter your background or the challenges you’re facing, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to your healing journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a well-researched and goal-oriented therapeutic model. CBT helps clients examine the links between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, identify patterns that contribute to distress, and develop healthier coping strategies. Sessions are collaborative and practical, often including exercises and tools clients can apply outside of therapy. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or stress, CBT offers strategies that promote clarity, resilience, and real change.
