Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tennessee (LCSW) and Massachusetts (LICSW) with over 20 years of experience guiding individuals through life's challenges. I understand that life's path isn't always straight; transitions, trauma, grief, depression, and relationship struggles are real. I believe in the transformative power of collaboration and growth. With a MA in Social Work from Georgia State University and dual BAs from UMBC, my diverse background equips me to provide tailored therapy and counseling. During our first session I will quickly review confidentiality and policies. We will spend time getting acquainted, learning what has brought you to therapy, and developing your goals for therapy. This journey is about you and your healing and growth. Our time together is your time and this is a safe space for you to explore and begin the steps to living your best life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidenced based approach that is effective in treating a wide range of issues, such as, anxiety; depression; marital and relationship issues; alcohol & drug use; and others. By learning and using the core principles of CBT, a significant improvement in quality of life and daily functioning is clinically proven. Through a collaborative approach between client and therapist goals are set and a plan is developed. This technique requires homework to be completed outside the office setting. The primary focus is forward thinking and learning new skills.
I believe that knowledge is powerful and important component in any therapeutic relationship. Psychoeducation is basically teach individuals about mental health terms, diagnosis, treatment, & symptom management. The more you know the better prepared you are to help yourself and succeed.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that is effective in treating a variety of diagnosis (including anxiety, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder). It is effective in teaching people how to manage anxiety provoking/obsessive thoughts & behaviors.
I consider each client a partner and the development of therapeutic goals and interventions is a collaborative effort between my client and myself. This might mean that we utilize a variety of techniques to meet your individual goals.
