Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the State of Michigan. I received my Undergraduate Degree from Hampton University in Hampton, VA and my Graduate Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and have been practicing for over 25 years. I've worked extensively with those who experience symptoms of anxiety and depression as well as with individuals who have struggled with figuring out how to cope with change, loss, and self-esteem issues. By responding to the needs of my clients with empathy and patience, I've been able to help my clients develop personalized plans of actions to help them live more satisfying and fulfilled lives.
In our first session together, we'll start with introductions and discuss what brought you in to see me. I'll provide a safe, non-judgmental space where we can talk about the specific challenges you're facing and together we'll create plan that will address the goals you want to achieve out of our time together.
Over the last 25 years, I've sharpened my skills and methods to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and to learn practical, self-help strategies to improve your daily life.
During my over 25 (+) years of working with clients, Cognitive Behavioral therapy has been a useful tool for helping to change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. Together we will explore how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions and develop a structured, goal-oriented plan to improve your quality of life.
