Hi, I'm Juliana! I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2014; graduated from Cal State Northridge in 2008. I value the importance of human connection and collaboration. The relationship and connection which a client and therapist develop between them is the single biggest factor for successful psychotherapy. Thank you for taking the first step in taking care of yourself and your needs. If you are ready to take control of your life, contact me for a free consultation today, and we'll start your journey together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Whether you are new to therapy or have worked with a therapist in the past, the initial session could be daunting. Our first session would include getting to know each other after we review policies, consents, your expectations, and goals you want to achieve. Scope of Practice: Please be aware that my current practice does not include treatment for clients with primary concerns related to alcohol and drug addiction, nor do I specialize in working with individuals with neurodivergent disorders.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

When it comes to navigating life's challenges, I believe the best guidance comes from within. My role is to offer support and a safe space for clients to process and uncover their own wisdom. I help my clients improve their lives by increasing awareness and mindfulness. Together we will take the journey to build healthy coping skills that support resilience in overcoming challenging obstacles. I look forward to sharing the experience with you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I mainly work with adults, 18 and over who struggle with depression, anxiety, work and family-related stress, lack of confidence, generational issues/trauma, and lack of motivation.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses on changing unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors, improve emotional regulation and create coping strategies to solve problematic issues. CBT is one of the main modality I utilize in my practice as it aim to change our thought patterns, our conscious and unconscious beliefs.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy is a form of therapy with a holistic focus on the perspective of the client. The aim is to explore client’s deep-seated needs, urges, and desires. I will assist the clients to rewrite their life narrative, their picture of themselves, their past, present, and future. This modality assists those who are ready to address the depth of a their experience and recognize patterns in their emotions, thoughts, and beliefs in order to gain insight into their current self.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

What makes SFBT stand out from CBT is that it places far more importance on discussing solutions than problems. Once I am able to recognize the problem with the assistance of the client, we are going to work on the solutions rather than dwelling on the problem. Since SFBT is a short form of therapy, we are not going to deep dive into your childhood and the ways in which your past has influenced your present.
