About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in the DFW area in Texas. I have lived here most of my life, but received my Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and my Master's degree from Texas State University. My passion is working with children and adolescents between the ages of 8-18. I am currently working towards becoming a certified eating disorder specialist, as building a healthy relationship with food is often such a crucial part of our mental health foundation.

In our first session we will get to know one another and begin building our client/patient relationship. After completing the necessary upfront information, we will set goals and intentions for our time spent together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Like most therapists, I love helping people. My greatest strength is that I will get to know you as an individual, and utilize a person-centered approach. I am a big kid at heart, which is often why working with teens is easiest for me!

I love working with adolescents, typically between the ages of 13-18. I have spent most of my time as a therapist working with adolescents that struggle with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, and suicidal ideations. I also have grown my practice in working with young adults ages 18 -30 that struggle with similar mental health issues.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT can be helpful treatment strategy in grounding yourself in the present moment and accepting feelings and experiences with mindfulness and without judgment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a helpful treatment to assist with changing one's mindset to decrease depression, anxiety, stress, anger, grief, etc.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is an evidence based practice to help individuals connect their emotions, thoughts, and actions to improve their life choices and meet their desired goals.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is essential to the treatment plan for diagnosis such as phobias, OCD, and eating disorders. This can consist from watching exposure videos together, challenging yourself in certain environments, or trying new foods.
