I feel one of my strengths as a clinician is my ability to uncover where identified issues likely stems from in a timely manner and build strong rapport with clients to create a therapeutic alliance to best foster needed and desired growth
I often utilize CBT approach to challenge unhealthy ways of thinking (cognitive distortions) and to better help client understand their behaviors. Through this approach I commonly encourage "homework" out of session to practice of strategies learn in session.
Solution focused approach is one that comes naturally to me, quickly identifying the issue and working find more immediate changes and coping strategies that can be implemented to achieve desired resolutions. Focusing less on the past and more on the future.
