My name is Hope Dollins and I have spent the majority of my adult life working in the school system K-12. I have been in the classroom, over the classroom and also worked as a mental health clinician within the school. Before the school, I have had years of working with adults in couples and family counseling. My biggest goal is to help you achieve a better you. I will help guide you in your journey and I also feel that you are the expert of yourself. I will find patterns in behavior and make short measurable goals with you to help you see your progress. Ultimately, we will both be successful in forming a road to help reach your fullest potential.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am hoping that you feel a nice and welcoming environment when you start with me. I use humor in my sessions and I work extremely hard to make you feel that our working relationship is authentic, genuine and goal driven. We will come up with a plan in the first session and also work together to form a calm and trusting environment that you enjoy. I want you to enjoy coming to counseling! Get excited!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Validation and empathy are my biggest strengths. I am an empath. I feel your feelings and I genuinely care about all people that come into my practice. I don't want you to struggle so if I can help in the process I am grateful to do so.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Individually - I love to see motivated clients. You may not be able to put into words what your goals are, but together we can definitely come up with a plan to make goals concrete and attainable. I tell motivated clients to give me 4-6 sessions. In 4-6 sessions you will see progress and we are in this together. Couples - Communication is key. Without proper communication, couples will struggle. My goal is to find patterns in behavior where couples may struggle to communicate and form a plan to overcome any communication barriers so that couples can live their potential. Families - No family is perfect. I understand this professionally and personally. I can tell you that all families have strengths and my goal is uncover all the family strengths to help build a happy and cohesive family. I can't promise that I can make things easier, but I can make communication better so that all parties can be understood.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been trained in CBT and TF CBT. I feel that many of our behaviors, feelings and thoughts all work together to create patterns. I am here to help you find and discover your patterns and work through the ones that may be deemed unhealthy.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

We will work together to learn how to scale emotions. If you find that anger comes on quickly, sadness comes on quickly or any other emotions come on too quickly, then this approach is beneficial in learning how to regulate feelings.

Adlerian

We may work together in your family tree or your birth order to learn traits that may be useful in learning patterns.

Somatic

How do emotions and feelings show in your body? Do you know the warning signs before getting overwhelmed? We will learn ways and sensations to soothe and calm the body while you take charge of how you feel in your body.

Christian Counseling

I am Christian. I can use this faith system to help you in your journey if you are comfortable in discussing religion in your settings. This approach will only be used at your comfort level.
