My name is Hope Dollins. I’ve spent most of my adult life serving in the K–12 school system as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and school-based mental health clinician. I have also provided counseling to adults, couples, and families, giving me a broad understanding of the challenges people face across different stages of life. I will work alongside you to identify patterns, develop measurable goals, and create a clear path forward so you can experience growth, healing, and reach your fullest potential.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My hope is that you feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported from the very beginning. I use appropriate humor and genuine connection to create an authentic, goal-driven working relationship. In our first session, we will develop a clear plan and begin building a calm, trusting environment where you feel safe to grow. Counseling should be a place you look forward to—an opportunity for meaningful change, renewed confidence, and personal growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Validation and empathy are central to my approach. I strive to deeply understand your experiences and provide a supportive, compassionate space where you feel heard and valued. I genuinely care about each person I work with and am honored to support you in reducing struggle and moving toward healing and growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Individuals: I value working with motivated clients, even if your goals are not yet fully clear. Together, we will identify patterns, define meaningful goals, and create a concrete plan for progress. I encourage committing to 4–6 sessions, where you can begin to see measurable change. We are partners in your growth. Couples: Communication is the foundation of a healthy relationship. I help couples identify patterns that create disconnection and develop practical strategies to strengthen communication, rebuild understanding, and help the relationship reach its full potential. Families: No family is perfect, and every family has strengths. My goal is to uncover those strengths and improve communication so each member feels heard, understood, and valued, helping create a more cohesive and supportive family system.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). These approaches recognize that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are deeply connected and often form patterns over time. I will help you identify and understand these patterns, strengthen the healthy ones, and work through those that may be limiting your growth and well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

We will work together to better understand and scale your emotions. If anger, sadness, or other emotions arise quickly or feel overwhelming, this approach helps you recognize early signs and develop skills to regulate and manage those feelings more effectively, leading to greater emotional balance and control.

Adlerian

Using an Adlerian approach, we may explore your family dynamics and birth order to better understand personality traits and patterns that influence your beliefs, behaviors, and relationships.

Somatic

Using a somatic approach, we will explore how emotions are experienced in your body and identify early warning signs of overwhelm. You will learn practical techniques to calm your nervous system, increase body awareness, and build greater control over your emotional and physical responses.

Christian Counseling

If you are comfortable, I can incorporate Christian faith principles into our work to support your healing and growth. This approach is always guided by your preferences and used only at a level that feels respectful, supportive, and meaningful to you.

Today was my first session with Hope, and all I can say is, she truly left me with hope. Hope made me feel heard and incredibly comfortable. She took the time to explain what I’m experiencing, why I’m feeling this way, and how we’re going to work through it together. The way she spoke to me and treated me left me feeling understood, supported, and truly optimistic that this process will help me heal. I’m so thankful for her and genuinely looking forward to continuing this journey with her.
