Hello! My name is Rochelle and I am a licensed professional counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 2019 and my Master of Science in Counseling Education in 2021 from Marywood University. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages of different cultural/religious backgrounds. I take on a person-centered approach serving as a guide and a source of support to reaching self-acceptance and self-recovery. I view therapy as a collaborative effort in which I provide a judgment-free environment to help my clients work through life’s challenges in a safe place. My passion is to assist individuals reach their fullest potential by highlighting their strengths and helping them work through their areas of growth. I strive to assist individuals with finding purpose and healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During your first session, you may fill out some paperwork, you can expect introductions, we will begin working on building a strong therapeutic relationship, we will talk about your reason for seeking therapy, your interpersonal preferences, expectations from therapy, and I will ask you questions to learn more about who you are as a human being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is my kindness and genuine care for others. I strongly believe that we all, as human beings, can achieve anything we set our minds to achieve. With a positive support system of people who believe in our potential and the personal resources necessary, we will not only survive the journey of self-actualization, but we will be empowered throughout. I focus to build on your strengths and develop new strengths.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I strive to assist my clients accept their difficult thoughts and feelings by using logic to understand them. My goal is to help my clients take small steps towards the life they want to live and commit to this life they envision for themselves.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The main goals I strive to assist my clients to achieve when utilizing this treatment method is identifying their main stressors, becoming aware of the thoughts they have about their stressors, identifying when they are struggling with faulty thinking patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to the problem, reframing negative thinking patterns and behaviors, and finally, practicing a new set of healthier thinking patterns and behaviors.

Gestalt

I work on helping my clients focus on the present moment by increasing their self awareness. I encourage them to take personal responsibility for the present, which will allow them to feel motivated to increase positive relationships and behaviors.

Existential

We talk about main topics in life that causes feelings of uncertainty and anxiety with the intention to help clients find purpose and meaning in their life to make their life worth living.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

My objective is to assist my clients learn emotional regulation skills to reduce physical symptoms of stress by utilizing adaptive coping mechanisms, including meditation, breathing techniques, and working on being in a state of awareness of themself and their environment. I assist clients with learning to respond more intentionally to their personal experiences.
