Hello, I am a LPC in NJ working with youth, young adults and individuals in the areas of mood, daily functioning related to needs, environment and emotional regulation, families, couples and intermittent crisis. I also work with all types of loss and grief as it presents uniquely to each individual and family. I have been in the mental health field in many arenas for over 25 years and am passionate about developing strengths as tools for all.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I welcome each person and unit to session with an open ended space of safety, confidential discussion, challenges that are pertinent and outcomes based interventions to be freely shared. Each individual and unit has their own words, feeling and needs through this a rapport can be created and fostered for a positive, motivated and interventional experience. Clients steer their treatment and simply give me the opportunity to be a part of it through knowledge and experience in the field and with individual presentations.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I listen, acknowledge each person and challenge, I explore strengths, skills that currently exist, and changes that may be relevant for growth and positivity. I am passionate about people, young and old as well as couples, families and groups. This is a gift given and I use it to not only learn myself through others, but to assist in the growth and development that allow peace and positive functioning for those invested in the journey daily.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work well with most ages in the mental health field with a great amount of experience with youth and families in all domains of life and relationships. I also work with individuals to allow them to present their need, their ideas, their needs and explore their current skills, strengths and struggles to allow for a specific journey to be created at their desired outcome and skill set, know or unknown at the start. Youth, young adults, families, couples and change of life are welcoming to my approach and I remain motivated to allow for growth, acceptance of areas that are not able to be changed and those that are in the future, one day at a time and one goal at a time with the end desires to be within reach and notably everchanging!!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

When a client is able to work through thoughts, actions and feelings that are related to everyday tasks, activities, and interactions it becomes more likely to develop and execute new ways to change thoughts, actions and feelings in a more positive and healthy manner. Visualization tools that are also related to thoughts, actions and feelings prove to be effective for most individuals, no matter the age category or presentation. Changing our skills to allow our strengths to be motivational ways to facilitate change for a success gives power to each skill and individual.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Through the facilitation of acceptance in ones life, ownership occurs and allows each individual to learn to move forward with expectations of themselves. How these expectations effect others as well as the unique individual incorporates experience, the existence of a challenge, struggle or positive experience to grow the journey and expand on motivations. Learning to use knowledge and experience to gain skills and positive interactions and communications with the ideal of knowing that one is true and owns what is and what will/could be moving through not only a day but days and the life journey.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

The work with solution focused brief therapy relies on a grounding in experience, not changing the experience but knowing that it occurred, acknowledging that it is and will be and moving forward to gain perspective and long term peace. Through the use of this intervention one can allow the individual to be outcome focused, describing what is needed, has been and will be, and using this to create unique success. The past does not change but the experience, although difficult for most, can be used to allow for a more encouraging and prominently positive journey forward. Through experience, positive or negative, growth can be designed and executed.
