Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) practicing in Texas for over 20 years. I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. My approach combines evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help you navigate life's challenges. Together, we will work towards understanding your unique needs and developing personalized strategies for growth and healing. I look forward to accompanying you on this journey toward a more fulfilling life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will start with brief introductions, then I'll ask about your history, what's bringing your into counseling and what outcomes you hope to see. We'll talk about your short and long term goals and what concerns you have before developing a plan for what your future sessions will look like.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in public mental health for the last 20 years, I've encountered a wide variety of people from many different backgrounds. I'm able to connect with people where they are at and help them to become the best version of themselves. My job is to provide you with the tools you need to be successful.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. I have over 20 years experience in helping people to restructure unhelpful patterns of thinking to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. This also includes practices such as journaling, learning relaxation skills and practicing difficult conversations.

Reality Therapy

Reality Therapy is based on the premise that people are motivated to fulfill their needs for love and belonging, power, freedom, and fun. It focuses on helping clients make better choices in their lives to achieve their goals and improve their relationships. People often make choices out of habit or a sense of duty. It's important to evaluate our choices and determine if they are really in our best interest.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This approach combines mindfulness and behavioral change strategies to help increase psychological flexibility and build resilience. I work with people to accept what is out of your personal control while committing to action that will increase your life satisfaction.
