Hello!Hola!Bonjour! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Massachusetts. I received my masters from Lesley University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and have been practicing for 4 years. I help adults struggling with variety of mental health diagnoses manage them and learn healthy ways to cope with it. I speak about 4 languages which includes Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, Spanish & English.
In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
In the past 4 years, I have worked with variety of populations ranging from children with disabilities to older adults with MS at a residential home. I have developed method of integrating art therapy with cognitive behavioral therapy and DBT for helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a plan that leads to measurable progress.
I’ve been using CBT along with Art Therapy (AT) in my practice for the past three years. It’s helped past clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. This means to explore the intersection of art therapy practices and principles within cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) theories and models. We’ll use CBT & AT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), like CBT, focuses on the social and emotional challenges associated with ADHD. We’ll be using DBT to teach techniques such as identifying emotions, understanding your triggers, and using coping strategies to prevent emotional escalation.
