Great to meet you! As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and current Ph.D. candidate in Counseling Education and Supervision, I am passionate about providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care to children, adolescents, and adults. My clinical work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to a safe, affirming space where their voice is heard and their story matters. With years of experience in school, community, and private practice settings, I specialize in supporting individuals from diverse, underrepresented, and crisis-impacted communities. Mental health is not one-size-fits-all, and seeking support is a courageous step toward growth and healing. I’m honored to walk beside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges, process difficult emotions, and rediscover their inner strengths.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

What you can expect from our first session Our first session is a space for you to feel heard. You’ll have the opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, reflect on your goals, and begin identifying the kind of support that feels right for you. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients can speak openly and begin building a foundation for deeper work. We’ll talk through your hopes for therapy, begin exploring the patterns that have shaped your experiences, and develop a personalized plan moving forward. Therapy is a journey, and I’m here to support yours with care, intention, and respect every step of the way.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to build deep, authentic connections with my clients across a wide range of ages and backgrounds. I bring warmth, empathy, and cultural humility into every session, which helps clients feel safe, seen, and respected. As a first-generation Liberian-American and the daughter of diplomats, I’ve had a globally-informed upbringing that has shaped my deep understanding of cultural identity, transition, and resilience. This perspective allows me to meet people where they are without judgment, and provide care that is truly responsive to their lived experiences. My experience spans school settings, community-based organizations, and private practice, giving me a broad and adaptable clinical foundation. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with anxiety, trauma, grief, identity development, and complex family dynamics. As a Ph.D. candidate and independently licensed clinician, I combine academic rigor with real-world experience, constantly integrating research-backed practices like CBT and narrative therapy into client-centered work. What sets me apart is not only my training, but my genuine passion for this work. I show up consistently, with compassion, energy, and cultural awareness, to help clients access healing, empowerment, and lasting transformation. My goal is to not just support change, but to help people rewrite their stories.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

A bit about my approach to therapy I take an integrative, holistic approach to care, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and multicultural frameworks to support each client’s unique needs. I use CBT to help clients recognize patterns in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and develop strategies to challenge negative thinking and promote emotional wellness. I also rely heavily on narrative therapy, inviting clients to explore their personal stories, life roles, identities, and experiences in a way that encourages empowerment and reframing. My goal is to co-create a therapeutic environment rooted in empathy, trust, and cultural humility, where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves freely and authentically. Whether we’re working on stress management, identity exploration, grief, trauma, or relationship challenges, I tailor each session to meet you where you are, while also gently guiding you toward where you want to be.

My treatment methods

Narrative

I use narrative therapy to help clients explore the stories they tell about themselves and their experiences. This approach allows us to identify patterns, beliefs, and external influences that may be shaping your thoughts, behaviors, or emotions. In sessions, we’ll work together to reframe those narratives; centering your strengths, values, and personal truth. Narrative therapy creates space for reflection, healing, and growth, helping you feel more empowered in your identity and decision-making. Whether you're navigating trauma, transitions, or self-doubt, this method invites you to become the author of your own story, one chapter at a time.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients in managing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and stress-related challenges. Through my work in both school and community-based settings, I’ve used CBT to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In sessions, I guide clients in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging negative beliefs, and building healthier coping strategies. CBT provides practical, evidence-based tools that empower individuals to take control of their emotional well-being and create lasting change. Whether I’m working with children, teens, or adults, I tailor CBT techniques to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

Family Therapy

I have experience providing family therapy to support healthier communication, resolve conflict, and strengthen relationships among family members. In both school and community-based settings, I’ve worked with families navigating complex dynamics, behavioral concerns, trauma, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, helping each family member feel heard while identifying patterns that may be affecting the family unit. Together, we work toward building connection, trust, and shared understanding in a supportive environment.
