As an licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), my therapeutic framework is rooted in using a systemic approach with my clients. What this means is that I believe we understand ourselves within the context of our foundational relationships with others. I work with individuals, couples and/or families from this framework to help them to build healthier relationships within themselves as well as with others.
In our first session, we'll begin with brief introductions, briefly discuss any past therapy experiences (if any) and your current expectations for therapy. This helps me to ease any worry or anxiety you may have as well as ensure that I individualize my approach to fit your needs. We will then engage in a conversation about what led you to seek therapy and any relevant background information that will help us to develop your goals together.
Understanding that healing lives outside of your comfort zone, I intentionally create a non-judgmental and safe space for my clients . No matter where you are in you in your journey, I am able to meet you where you are, help you navigate the process at your own pace, while gently pushing you to grow.
I use CBT as the foundational approach to help my clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
I use a strength-based approach to help my clients to feel empowered to grow, evolve and achieve their goals.
As an LMFT, I am trained in using a systemic approach to work with individuals, couples, and families.
