Hi there, I'm Schenika Silver, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I received my counseling degree from Liberty University and been in practice for six years. I love working with people and assisting them in finding their purpose, healing from past hurts and wounds, and becoming their whole selves for themselves, their families, and their greater community. My clients often share that I am direct in a compassionate way, I provide insight and wisdom, and they feel heard in my presence. Counseling is not just a job for me, it's a part of my purpose.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

As your therapist, my priority is to build a partnership with you. I am partnering with you to create a life of purpose and fulfillment. Within this partnership, I am actively listening to your story, your concerns, and your goals and together we will create a treatment plan addressing your needs in life. Life can be what you create it to be. Let's create a life worth living. Let's create a life full of hope, joy, peace, love, purpose and fulfillment. There is an answer to every problem if we take the time to examine our inner selves and take the necessary actions steps towards the solution. I invite you to take the first step towards your solution.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Therapy is an ongoing assessment. The more I listen to your story, the more I am to hear the root cause of the distress that you are experiencing in your life. Through our therapeutic partnership, I provide wisdom, knowledge, counsel, and understanding, that ultimately leads to recovery, healing, and fulfillment in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that helps examines thoughts and it's affects on an individual's behavior. I use this approach in my practice to explore client's thoughts and beliefs about themselves, others, and the world and reframe those beliefs to produce the outcomes (behaviors) the desire to see in their lives.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use Person-Centered therapy to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for my clients. I walk along side of them during their therapeutic journey.

Interpersonal

We have relationships with everyone around us. I use Interpersonal Psychotherapy to assist clients understand their attachment style in relationships, develop healthy communication and conflict resolution skills within their relationships.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a therapy that helps clients stay true to their values, be more mindful of the present, and let go of the past. I use this therapy with those who may struggle with letting go of past hurts and disappointments, and seek to move forward with life as a healed and whole person.

Christian Counseling

For clients who wish to integrate their Christian faith in therapy, Christian Counseling is a perfect approach for that. I use scriptures, silent prayer, and open prayer along with other counseling techniques to help clients find healing from past hurts or direction for the future.
