Life can be messy- therapy is a space to sort it out together. I'm Gessica (like Jessica, but with a "G") and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 10 years in the counseling field. I aim to offer an approachable, solution-focused, and collaborative therapy experience. I enjoy working with adults, 20-somethings, and adolescents who are navigating difficult transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. Some life transition issues I specialize in include: pregnancy/postpartum, divorce or break-up, recent graduates, recent move, and career changes. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will review therapy expectations and logistics, including confidentiality, scheduling, my therapeutic style, and how sessions typically go. We discuss what brought you to therapy, what issues you are currently experiencing, and review your goals for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I bring my authentic, compassionate self to sessions in order to create a comfortable space. I like to empower my clients to make decisions towards meaningful change. I am solution-focused and aim to give clients tangible strategies and tools that they can implement outside of sessions.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients who are going through major life transitions, including graduating school, career change or wanting a career change, pregnancy or new addition to the family, and changes in relationship status. I like to support people who may be having anxiety around making difficult decisions or identifying the best next steps.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and understand unhelpful thought patterns that may be affecting how they feel. Together, we'll work on challenging those thoughts and finding more positive, helpful ways of thinking. We'll also explore different strategies to manage and reduce the issues you're facing. Overall, I tailor my approach to fit each person's unique needs and preferences.
