Hi! I'm Lynette Alarcon I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Southern California. I graduated from Brandman University in 2018. I have been in the field since 2017 treating Individuals with depression, anxiety, interpersonal issues, trauma, and addiction. I have training in trauma informed care, DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing, PC Care and am familiar with the 12 step programs.
I really enjoy learning about and getting to know people from different backgrounds. I have learned that taking the time to try and understand someone with empathy and active listening can change that person's world. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I typically prefer to learn what best suits the client. In my experience communication style is part of culture. When needed I am comfortable being direct yet supportive to assist clients in reaching their goals.
I place a lot of emphasis on therapeutic rapport. I strongly believe that a good therapeutic bond is a key intervention in helping clients reach their goals. I also enjoy implementing CBT, Solution Focused and DBT aspects into my work.
