Is anxiety, feeling "stuck" in dysfunctional cycles, or depression taking control of your life? Past hurts may be affecting your ability to respond to situations in a way that feels healthy or productive, leaving you feeling disconnected from others. I can help you learn to care for yourself without feeling guilty, find relief from emotional pain, and build stronger, more positive relationships with those around you. It's time to stop just getting by and start truly thriving. I would be happy to assist you in gaining tools and insight to help improve the relationship with yourself. I will help you gain insight into the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and develop emotional regulation skills. We’ll work together to strengthen your boundaries and communication with yourself and others, fostering a healthier relationship with yourself and creating lasting change in how you approach life’s challenges. I help my clients explore the root causes of their struggles, heal from trauma, and rebuild self-worth, creating lasting change in their emotional lives and relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first counseling session, I will focus on building a safe and trusting environment. I will ask about your current concerns, goals, and any relevant history to better understand your unique experience. This session serves as an opportunity for you to share your story and explore the challenges you are facing. Together, we will discuss your goals for therapy and begin to establish a plan for healing and growth. By the end of the session, you will feel heard, understood, and have a sense of direction for the journey ahead, knowing you have support every step of the way.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a counselor lie in my compassionate, holistic approach and my deep commitment to supporting clients through their unique challenges. With over 10 years of experience, I have developed the ability to truly connect with individuals, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where they feel heard and understood. My background in Community Counseling, along with my experience in both private practice and community mental health environments, has equipped me with the versatility to address a wide range of issues, from chronic mental health conditions to relationship struggles and trauma. I believe in a collaborative approach, where the client’s input is always valued in the healing process. I focus on long-term growth and resilience, helping clients uncover the roots of their struggles and guiding them toward lasting change. My goal is to empower clients to move forward with confidence, peace, and renewed hope for their future.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I use an integrative approach which means I use multiple theoretical orientations tailored to each individual. I employ the use of DBT to help manage and process emotions, IPT to explore and practice interpersonal effectiveness/communication and boundaries, as well as Attachment Theory to explore the roots of dysfunctional relational cycles.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment theory helps clients understand how early relationships with caregivers shape their emotional development and influence their behavior in later relationships. It addresses issues such as trust, emotional regulation, and the ability to form secure, healthy connections. Clients may explore challenges related to anxiety, fear of abandonment, or difficulties in intimacy, often linked to insecure attachment styles. By identifying these patterns, attachment theory offers insights for healing and fostering more secure, fulfilling relationships, both personally and professionally.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps clients manage intense emotions, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. It is particularly effective for individuals struggling with borderline personality disorder, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and relationship difficulties. DBT focuses on teaching skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, helping clients navigate overwhelming feelings, reduce impulsive behaviors, and build more stable, fulfilling relationships. It also promotes acceptance and change, allowing clients to balance emotional validation with the need for growth and improvement.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) focuses on improving interpersonal relationships and communication patterns, which can significantly enhance emotional well-being. By addressing issues such as grief, role transitions, interpersonal conflicts, and social isolation, IPT helps individuals develop healthier relationships and improve their social support networks. The therapy fosters better emotional regulation, enhances self-awareness, and equips individuals with skills to navigate social situations more effectively. This approach is especially beneficial for those struggling with mood disorders like depression and anxiety, as it strengthens interpersonal functioning and reduces emotional distress linked to relationship difficulties.
