Welcome to my practice! Are you tired of coping with something painful that happened in the past? Maybe it was childhood trauma, emotional or physical abuse, a car accident, or something else that is now causing you to feel anxious, irritable, or stuck? Do you want the memories or the images of those painful experiences to stop interfering with your daily life and relationships? Or have you worked through some of the painful things in therapy before, but find that you still have difficulties standing up for yourself in relationships, feeling confident and good about yourself, or truly living your best life? I would be honored to be a part of your healing journey and develop a customized plan to help you feel better than you do today!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will review the intake paperwork and forms that you completed beforehand and discuss the challenges you are experiencing, in addition to the goals you have for therapy. The main focus of the first session is to see if I feel I can effectively support you with the issues you are seeking help for and to determine if we both feel we would be a good fit to work together. From there on, we will develop a plan together to move towards helping you to feel better and achieve the goals you are looking for. It is my intention for you to leave every session with more hope and freedom to live the life you are looking for.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are my dedication and passion to helping people identify the root of where they feel stuck and finding new ways to move forward in freedom. I am also down-to-earth and absolutely love helping my clients identify and assertively communicate their boundaries with others, as recovery from trauma usually involves some aspect of speaking up for oneself again, or maybe even for the first time! I am driven by my diverse experience in various settings, with various populations, over the years, and the different ways that untreated trauma/PTSD has impacted people, so I truly want to help! I believe everyone has strengths and that recovery from the past is possible.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Therapy begins with a trusting relationship, so it is my goal to provide a safe place where you can talk about difficult things in an understanding and compassionate environment. I work best with clients who are motivated for treatment, willing and able to actively and consistently engage in their care. While I have worked with various forms of traumatic experiences, the area of childhood trauma is definitely a strength of mine and one that I am passionate about. I also have many clients in my practice who have experienced narcissistic abuse. Additionally, my experience also includes years of specialized training providing therapy to military veterans and their families, so I understand trauma within that cultural and family system.
