I have been practicing as a LMFT since 2017 and I am licensed in CA and TX. My professional expertise and areas of interests stem from some lived experiences which allows me to understand and connect more intimately with my clients. I help working professionals gain a better understanding of themselves by digging deeper into their story and gaining insight into their behaviors.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first appointment, I will ask questions to obtain information about you and what brought you to therapy. I will ask specific questions about what you are experiencing now and collaborate with you to create therapy goals if it is a mutual fit.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My ability to relate to my clients and understand their experience, coupled with the skills and training I have to help my clients reach their goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in Asian American Pacific Islander mental health and treat my clients through a culturally sensitive lens. I have helped my clients work through anxiety, depression, intergenerational trauma, first generation experiences, children of narcissistic/"tiger" parents, aging parents, grief, guilt/shame, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, work stress, and academic/career counseling. I also work with clients experiencing postpartum anxiety/depression, pregnancy, infertility, IVF, and first time parents.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I practice CBT with clients who's barriers are their own thought processes. I help clients gain awareness of their thoughts, distortions, and create better thought patterns for positive outcomes.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I practice DBT with clients who's presenting concerns are related to emotional dysregulation or clients in distress. I find the skills to be effective in helping clients gain more control of their emotions and managing stress.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples by helping clients not only identify their negative relationship cycle, but identifying the deeper emotions beneath. In session, we will practice expressing vulnerable emotions to gain a closer connection.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I specialize in Asian American Pacific Islander mental health and treat my clients through a culturally sensitive lens. I have worked with my clients through many different challenges unique to the AAPI experience such as intergenerational trauma, first generation experiences, anxiety, depression, grief, aging parents, guilt/shame, perfectionism, work stress, imposter syndrome, children of "tiger" or narcissistic parents, etc.
