Let's talk about what has been bothering you. Hello, my name is Fashen (pronounced Fashion). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I have been practicing in the mental health field for 8 years. My focus is working with adults who were raised or "grew up" in dysfunctional homes/households and are now finding themselves living out the results of that "dysfunction". Signs of a dysfunctional family may consist of emotional neglect or abuse, a lack of respect, poor boundaries, anger and hostility, negative modeled behaviors by your parents/caregivers and more. One may now find themselves struggling with childhood emotional wounds, codependence, depression, low self-esteem, people pleasing tendencies, interpersonal conflict, etc. I will take a collaborative approach to help you identify the habits, thoughts, and/or feelings that are hindering you from achieving your authentic self and together, we will brainstorm healthier ways of coping. Also, I provide compassionate counseling to women who have experienced a terminated pregnancy, offering a safe space to explore feelings of grief, emotional pain, and healing. Outside of therapy, I enjoy watching true crime, reading books with a compelling storyline, listening to various genres of music, crafting, decorating and spending quality time with my family.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one of another, discussing the reason(s) on why you have chosen to attend therapy and the plan that will be taken to help you achieve your goals. Our subsequent sessions will consist of us building a therapeutic relationship and implementing steps to achieve your treatment goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Choosing the right therapist is very important. It’s sort of like trying on different pairs of shoes until you find the right fit. So, explore your options to ensure that your therapist align with your needs and treatment goals. As a therapist, I believe my greatest strength is creating a non-judgmental environment where clients are allowed to be vulnerable, presenting their authentic selves. Also, I am patient, open-minded, empathetic and understanding.
