My approach is collaborative, emphasizing open communication and partnership in the therapeutic process. I am committed to ongoing learning and professional development, integrating evidence-based practices to provide effective care. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first clinical session, clients can generally expect a welcoming environment where introductions take place, and the clinician outlines the purpose and structure of the session. The clinician will explain confidentiality policies to ensure the client feels safe sharing personal information. An initial assessment is conducted, gathering important details about the client's history, concerns, and goals for therapy. Together, the clinician and client discuss therapeutic goals, explore the reasons for seeking help, and clarify the clinician's approach to therapy. Additionally, logistical aspects such as session frequency and scheduling are addressed, allowing for any questions or concerns to be voiced. By the end of the session, a summary is provided, along with a plan for future sessions, laying the groundwork for a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings. I have worked with a diverse range of issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship difficulties. By utilizing CBT techniques, I guide clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work has been witnessing clients gain insight and make meaningful changes in their lives. I believe that collaboration is key, and I strive to empower individuals by equipping them with the tools they need to understand and manage their mental health effectively.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

With over eight years of clinical practice, I have had the opportunity to work extensively with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My interest in DBT was sparked by its unique blend of cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness practices, which I’ve found to be particularly effective in treating individuals with emotional regulation challenges, including those with borderline personality disorder, anxiety, and mood disorders. In my practice, I emphasize creating a compassionate and validating environment where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and behaviors. I guide individuals through the core components of DBT: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. By teaching these skills, I help clients gain greater awareness of their thoughts and feelings, manage intense emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

Motivational Interviewing

With over eight years of clinical practice, I have developed a strong foundation in Motivational Interviewing (MI). My journey into MI began with a fascination for its client-centered approach, which empowers individuals to explore and resolve their ambivalence toward change. This method has proven invaluable in supporting clients facing a variety of challenges, including substance use, behavioral issues, and mental health concerns. In my practice, I prioritize creating a non-judgmental and empathetic environment where clients feel safe to discuss their thoughts and feelings. By employing MI techniques, I facilitate open conversations that help clients articulate their goals and motivations. I focus on enhancing their intrinsic motivation for change, fostering a sense of autonomy and self-efficacy.

Psychoeducation

With over eight years of clinical practice, I have cultivated a deep expertise in psychotherapy, particularly through the lens of Motivational Interviewing (MI). My passion for psychotherapy stems from its profound ability to facilitate personal growth and healing. By integrating MI techniques into my therapeutic approach, I empower clients to explore their motivations and navigate their ambivalence toward change. In my practice, I prioritize creating a warm, empathetic environment where clients feel safe to express their thoughts and emotions. By using MI, I guide clients in articulating their goals and aspirations, helping them uncover the intrinsic motivations that drive their desire for change. This collaborative approach fosters a strong therapeutic alliance and encourages individuals to take ownership of their journey.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With over eight years of clinical practice, I have developed a comprehensive approach to psychotherapy that integrates elements of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). My passion for these therapeutic modalities lies in their ability to empower clients to harness their strengths and envision a positive future, even when facing significant challenges. In my practice, I prioritize creating a supportive and empathetic environment where clients feel safe to share their thoughts and emotions. Utilizing MI techniques, I help individuals articulate their goals and motivations, exploring the reasons behind their desire for change. This collaborative dialogue fosters a strong therapeutic alliance, encouraging clients to take ownership of their journey. In addition, I employ SFBT principles to focus on solutions rather than problems. I guide clients in identifying their existing strengths and resources, facilitating a forward-looking perspective that inspires hope and agency. By helping individuals envision their desired outcomes, we can work together to create actionable steps toward achieving their goals.
