A little bit about me: I was born and raised in Northwest Michigan, I’m an avid animal lover, and sourdough connoisseur! I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan with a major of Women’s Studies in 2018 and an MSW from Wayne State University in 2020. I’ve been practicing for five years. I’ve been a practicing social worker for five years. I have an innate understanding of the complexities of life and the overwhelm that can result. This understanding has created in me a passion for helping individuals learn and obtain the appropriate tools to achieve their full potential and overcome these challenges. I look forward to working with you!
I will establish with you a clear understanding of who you are and what you are hoping to achieve during our time together. I use the following questions to establish that baseline: -What made you first decide to reach out for help? Why now? -What do you hope to gain from therapy? -How can I help you be the best version of yourself? -Who is your current support system? -How would you describe your current coping skills?
Relating is my superpower! I pride myself on my ability to listen to a client’s perspective without judgement. I recognize the vulnerability that is required to divulge some of the most intimate aspects of yourself in therapy. I honor that by giving each client the undivided attention necessary to allowing themselves to heal and process their emotions.
I feel empowered to help all clients of all circumstances. As someone who has experienced anxiety and depression, I have an intimate understanding of the challenges that accompany those conditions; the desire to go out and be social, but struggling to leave the house, feeling as if it is not worth the effort and those around you do not understand. These personal experiences provide me with a unique skill set that will benefit any individual struggling with similar challenges. I also feel uniquely equipped to assist individuals struggling with relationship issues, whether that be familial or intimate.
I let the client lead the session while I guide them to understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are intertwined.
