I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in practice for 21 years. I attended the University of Northern Colorado and received a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and have worked in setting such as hospitals, schools and outpatient clinics throughout my career. Since graduation, I have worked with teens and adults who are wanting to build healthier lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I like to spend time getting to know each other through open dialogue. I then like to further explore the issues you'd like to work on and develop a plan for how to meet your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider include being able to meet my clients where they are at when they begin therapy. I am warm and accepting and like to build a close relationship with my clients so that they feel safe to explore difficult issues.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and have served the LGBTQIA+ community. I have experience helping people to learn tools for better managing anxiety, depression and trauma as well as building healthier relationships with others. I also love to work with neurodiverse clients and military members and their families.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I have been trained in this treatment method for PTSD/trauma and have paired it with EMDR.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized CBT my entire career and love to bring in skills to help people better manage their anxiety and depression.

EMDR

I received my EMDR training in 2008 and have been using it since then to help clients process their trauma and symptoms of PTSD as well as for other anxiety issues.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a very helpful method for helping clients to manage intense emotions and build healthy coping skills.

Gender-affirming therapy

I have worked with the Trans community for over 10 years and love to support people in their journey of receiving Gender-affirming care.
