I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate in social work from Loyola University. I have over ten years of experience working with people from diverse backgrounds in both medical and mental health settings. Whether you are struggling to establish a new normal in the face of shifting life circumstances, coping with a long-standing physical or mental illness, feeling the strain of caring for a loved one with an illness or a disability, or simply feeling blocked on your path to fulfillment, you deserve a space dedicated to your needs. The pandemic and the mounting influence of social media has increased feelings of isolation and eroded our sense of genuine connectedness. Negative beliefs about oneself and fears related to past traumas can also hinder our ability to stay connected to those most important to us. My goal is to help you build and maintain the healthy connections that help us feel whole. I strive to create a space where anyone can feel welcome, and I believe that therapy is a pursuit from which everyone could derive a benefit.
In our first session, we will discuss the concerns and problems that bring you into therapy at this time. Together, we will identify your strengths and establish a plan for moving forward. We will discuss goals for treatment and begin to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing your narrative.
Having worked in a variety of settings, I am adept at establishing rapport and forging an alliance with clients facing a wide range of presenting issues and concerns.
I consider myself an evidence-based practitioner who tailors the treatment method to meet the presenting needs of the client. I have utilized CBT for depression, DBT for Borderline Personality Disorder, EMDR for complex trauma, exposure therapy for anxiety, and psychosocial skill building for chronic and severe presentations.
I have used this method for clients who present with depression or attachment difficulties stemming from early relationships within the family of origin.
I have used CBT to treat depressive symptoms in high-functioning adults with sufficient motivation and self-direction.
I have used DBT in both individual and group therapy settings to enhance general coping and interpersonal skill-building for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder and complex trauma.
I have completed an intensive two day training in EMDR and have experience resourcing clients with complex trauma.
