My name is Clifford Porter, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I have been practicing since 1990 as an LCDC and 2006 as an LPC I have provided services in different formats including, outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals and detoxification services. I currently teach at a local college. My specialize in the treatment of individuals with addiction disorders, couples therapy, as well as persons experiencing behavioral health disorders.
Clients can expect to come away with a sense of being heard, compassion, empathy, alternative solutions to resolving presented issues.

Multiple years of experience in behavioral health and addiction. Specialties include substance addiction, depression, anxiety, couples related issues, and sleep disorders.
I began working in the field of substance abuse in 1990, obtained a master's degree in counseling working out and inpatient treatment, behavioral health, hospital environment, where I was consulted by medical staff to see patients suffering from both psychiatric and substance abuse related disorders. I also worked with Pain Management staff to address and assess if patients were legitimate experiencing pain or simply drug seeking. I have taught counseling related courses at a local college to train and prepare students for a future in counseling.
During my man years in the Air Force, I was integrally involved in working with many different people from various backgrounds. I have worked with and continue to teach in the area of multicultural counseling. I pride myself in being able to cross cultural boundaries in order to assist individual with working through presenting issues.
I am sensitive to assess and view the clients presenting issues from their perspective.
