I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor based out of Texas with more than a decade of professional clinical experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. My primary therapeutic approach is from a strength-based perspective helping empower you to utilize your inherent strengths to work towards self-sufficiency and through life's adversities.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session generally consists of a brief introduction of both ourselves, but also an orientation to the therapy process to build a strong therapeutic relationship. A shift is done more towards defining some therapy goals and working collaboratively to identify specific areas of concern and how to best approach those concerns.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I think that the ability to be collaborative and flexible allows me to be able to work with the client's inherent strengths, while also being open to changing approach or focus depending on the needs of the client. In addition, a strong focus is on building the therapeutic alliance to better have buy-in to the change process and trust to work on vulnerable topics.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This particular modality is utilized in treatment to help clients not only accept negative situations or past struggles, but work towards becoming more mindful and committing to practical behaviors to improve their mood.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have certification as a Trauma and Grief Component Therapist as well as trained on the use of Trauma-Focused CBT. I integrate these two different modalities to work with a person on how they best want to address past trauma in their life to better manage their emotions around the trauma and limit present impairment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This type of treatment intervention is done in order to have people understand the link between one's thoughts, emotions and behavior and to work towards reframing negative thoughts and challenging those thought patterns that result in distress and negative coping.

Grief Therapy

I have certification as a Trauma and Grief Component Therapist and I use these along with various other modalities to address the unique qualities of grief/loss in collaboration with a client to make progress working through the grief to improve emotional regulation on a daily basis.
