First things first! Let me start by saying, I recognize the immense strength it takes to begin this journey. You’ve come to the right place. Due to my own life experiences, I have a passion for working with children and families to help them navigate difficult times and transitions. I am a true believer in using the strengths we gain from overcoming our own obstacles to serve as a guide for others. My goal as a therapist is to walk alongside you until, using your strengths, you can navigate your path. Together, we will utilize art, play, and conversation to elicit positive change. I enjoy using fun, engaging, and colorful activities to help children and families learn healthy communication styles, coping skills, and self-love and acceptance. I've even developed curricula to teach families important skills needed to tackle sensitive subjects such as trauma, worry, anger control, and healthy emotional development. I hope to meet you soon, as we embark on this together.
As we begin to work together we will explore your goals for therapy and develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to meet your needs. While working together you can expect a strong emphasis on your strengths as the client. I choose to lead a strengths-based practice, as I genuinely feel that developing a recognition of your strengths helps break down barriers to successful intervention. You are the change agent!
My practice focus is on evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Family Therapy, Play Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
I pride myself on my ability to build rapport through a lens of understanding and acceptance. It is important to me that my clients feel heard, and able to freely express themselves. I also believe in a healthy dose of humor and laughter when the moment calls for it!
