I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic illness and life transitions. I have experience in the field of substance abuse treatment since 2008. I am also a survivor of stage 3 lung cancer. I strive to meet my clients where they are and gently suggest tools to help achieve the change they are looking for. I truly want to help.
In our first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other. In the process of the next few sessions, we will solidify a plan of action and then work toward your goals. We will find what works for you and what does not. We will adjust goals along the way. This is your journey. I see myself as a guide more than anything.
My training and life experience are my strengths. I understand because I have been there. I am ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) certified and EMDR trained.
I've spent the better part of my experience working with addicts and alcoholics in early recovery. I work well with uncertainty and find myself meeting my clients where they are in their journey.
It's about the connection between the therapist and client that matters most. If you feel heard and are able to find symptom relief, then we are moving in the right direction. Many years of experience here.
Negative cognitions are the key. Let's explore your assumptions and see if they are true. Many years of experience here.
We accept the world and our ourselves the way we are, without judgement. When we do this, we can commit to change.
