I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a broad range of experiences working with children, adolescents, families, individuals, and couples. I treat depression, anxiety, family conflicts, relationship issues, self-esteem, and life transitions. I am here to help you explore new ways of thinking and moving toward your goals and new possibilities. Let's work together in a safe, warm therapeutic environment to make step-by-step changes for a better tomorrow!
In the first session, I use a welcoming approach to explain the therapy procress and gather all the information about you to assist me in understanding your situation and assess your treatment plan. I will ask questions about your past experiences, current challenges, and future goals.
My great sense of understanding and empathy in addition to my educational background in child development, family studies, and psychology has enriched me to appreciate each person's personality and background and help them to reach their best potential by learning and utilizing skills.
CBT is a scientifically proven method that can be effective in treating mental health, such as anxiety, depression, and traumas. It illustrates how certain thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and actions can trap you in a negative cycle. I use CBT to teach my clients how to identify, stop, and replace their negative thoughts. I can help my clients to change their negative thought patterns and improve the way they feel and behave.
I use DBT to help my clients understand the triggers that lead to destructive and impulsive behaviors and develop new skills to cope with emotion dysregulation. The treatment also focuses on developing a capacity to hold onto seemingly contradictory truths like the need for both acceptance and change.
I use positive psychotherapy and a strength-based approach to empower my clients to identify their strengths and capacities to improve their problem-solving skills, implement effective coping skills, and find new resources and possiblities.
