Do you feel stuck in your personal or professional life, or are you concerned about a child who seems off track and you’re unsure how to help? I work with men, young adults, and adolescents who are navigating a wide range of life challenges, including emotional struggles, behavioral concerns, and major life transitions. My approach is practical, direct, and supportive. I focus not only on helping clients process what they’re going through, but also on building real-world life skills they can apply outside of therapy. I believe in meeting clients where they are while also encouraging accountability, consistent effort, and measurable While serving in the US Marine Corps I learned the discipline and strength needed to continue moving forward regardless of what life has thrown my way. I am a Mental Health Counselor and a Professional Life Coach most importantly I am a son, a husband and a father.

First session

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviors. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.

Strengths

While serving in the US Marine Corps I learned the discipline and strength needed to continue moving forward regardless of what life has thrown my way. I am a Mental Health Counselor and a Professional Life Coach. I have worked in residential, local school district, hospital and private practice.

Ideal clients

I work with men, young adults, and adolescents who are navigating a wide range of life challenges, including emotional struggles, behavioral concerns, and major life transitions. I also work with children, and elderly clients. I have struggled with life issues, relationship issues and family problems as well and can directly relate to those clients and help direct them on the path to overcoming these obstacles.

Treatment methods

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling is a form of psychotherapy that integrates traditional, evidence-based mental health practices with Christian beliefs and biblical principles. It addresses emotional and relational challenges while helping clients grow spiritually and align their lives with their faith. Rather than viewing mental and emotional health in isolation, Christian counseling recognizes the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected. Counselors help clients navigate issues like anxiety, depression, grief, and marital conflict using clinically proven strategies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. By identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns, you can change how you feel and react to difficult situations. Rather than dwelling on the past, CBT focuses on resolving present-day challenges. Through a collaborative partnership with a therapist, you take on an active role in learning and practicing specific, practical coping skills.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based talk therapy originally developed to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD). It focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is specifically designed for individuals who experience emotions very intensely and may struggle with self-destructive or impulsive behaviors.

Existential

Existential therapy is a philosophically driven form of talk therapy that focuses on the human condition as a whole rather than just treating specific symptoms. It helps you confront universal challenges—like death, isolation, freedom, and meaninglessness—empowering you to take personal responsibility and actively create an authentic, purposeful life.

Actually picked him as he was recommended by my insurance, and so glad I did. We talked and I was extremely comfortable which allowed me to let me be myself holding back nothing I’d highly recommend Mr Pigott as I left the appointment, felt 100% better and made my follow up appointment.
