About me

My name is Jen Leone, Marriage and Family Therapist in practice for 14 years. I specialize in working with motivated professional adults who need support in relationships, grief, and life transitions. Habits, regret and trauma - all can interfere with living a fuller life and realizing potential. I guide and support those who are ready to get unstuck, moving towards clear rather than fear based-choices.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session we will prioritize your concerns, explore past patterns and future goals. If goals are not yet clear, we can co-create a better understanding your personal values. We will then examine what might be preventing you from attaining those goals: relationally, personally or professionally.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a clinician, I listen critically to understand your personal style & challenges. I adjust my style according to what you let me know you need, consciously and unconsciously. * Humor is an important part of my life and I do tend to encourage whatever you find amusing. Life is challenging - laughter is vital as a coping mechanism.*

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with professional adults looking to examine their relationships, purpose in life, and then willing to do the sometimes difficult work to make changes for a healthier future. My typical clients are struggling with life changes: contemplating separation/divorce, career, child/parent shifting dynamics, and grief and loss due to death or other losses. These challenges can cause concerning mood shifts, behavior changes, and we co-create a plan to address distress.

My treatment methods

Existential

Existential psychology poses the questions "why are we here and what is our purpose?" Angst and depression can arise inter and intra personally when we feel the press of these questions.

Attachment-based

The way we attached to our original care givers influences how we attach to our partners, co-workers and friends. With greater understanding and guidance towards healthy attachment, interactive patterns can change.

Strength-Based

Everyone, everyone! has strengths and gifts. At times we forget our own resources: strengths are be amplified and additional skills developed to ensure better functioning.

I've only had a few sessions with Jen and I am already amazed at her skills as a therapist. She has a truly unique ability to ask the right questions to get you to examine yourself and get to the root of your emotions. Rather than giving you solutions, she helps you arrive at them yourself. It's incredible to witness.

Jen was amazing to speak with. I felt very heard and understood. She gave me new perspectives and I feel a sense of relief with only one session and more to go. Highly recommend her!

This was the first session between me and Jen, but I have a good feeling that these sessions are going to take me far and have me way better equipped for the challenges ahead. Can't wait for the next one!
