About me

Hi, I’m Sarah Sohal, DSW, LICSW, a licensed clinical social worker offering Telehealth therapy for adults and older adults. I specialize in supporting clients through life transitions and helping them process recent stressors that may feel overwhelming or disruptive. My Punjabi last name reflects my family through marriage rather than my own cultural background. My husband and our daughter are Punjabi, and being part of their family has given me a meaningful appreciation for South Asian culture while reinforcing my commitment to providing culturally humble, respectful, and inclusive care for clients from diverse backgrounds. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused interventions, and mindfulness to help clients gain clarity, build resilience, and develop practical tools for moving forward. Whether you're navigating a career change, retirement, caregiving responsibilities, loss, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can offer a space to reflect, reset, and grow. I believe in meeting clients where they are, and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and empowered. If you're looking for thoughtful, goal-oriented support during a challenging time, I’d be honored to work with you. *Please note- at this time I am only offering individual therapy, and am unable to offer couples or family therapy

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other better. We will complete an intake assessment, this lets me know a little more about you- what brought you to therapy, as well as social and family history that gives context to your lived experiences.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Through my work with clients, I strive to be warm, caring, and relatable. I hope to ensure our time together is supportive and feels like a safe space through your therapy journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is motivated for change, and open for reflection. Therapy will push and challenge you towards the progress you are striving for- my ideal client is open-minded and excited for this journey. You have already completed one of the hardest parts of this journey by reaching out for support. Together we will identify goals for our time working together and focus on your future moving forward.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care in therapy recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship. It involves understanding trauma's effects on the mind and body, and integrating this awareness into every aspect of treatment to avoid re-traumatization and support healing.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy helps you learn to slow down, notice your thoughts and feelings without judgment, and stay present in the moment. By practicing mindfulness, you can respond to stress more calmly and feel more in control of your emotions.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy provides a supportive space to talk about your loss, understand your emotions, and find ways to cope that feel right for you. It can help you make sense of your experience and begin to heal at your own pace.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients notice and shift unhelpful thoughts that may make grief and life changes feel heavier. This approach offers practical tools for coping, building resilience, and finding steadier ground during difficult situations.

This was my first session with Dr. Sohal. I found her in the list of Dr's in the Grow Therapy bios. I new I definitely wanted a female Therapist and I felt that Dr. Sohal had a very genuine, caring, and approachable demeanor. She also takes a honest, down to earth approach to therapy. I would like to continue my therapy with Dr. Sohal.

Sarah was easy to talk to, she presented questions to get to know me, it eased my nervousness and I felt comfortable. Our conversation flowed.
