New to Grow
With more than 25 years of experience, I specialize in supporting children, and adults who face ADHD, anxiety, substance abuse, depression, developmental delays, trauma, learning disabilities, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I understand that every person is unique. I take a personalized, compassionate approach to create a safe and supportive environment where healing and growth can flourish. I am dedicated to building strong, trusting relationships. I also provide practical tools and strategies that promote resilience, confidence, and positive changes.
In the first counseling session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment focused on getting to know one another. I typically explains confidentiality, the counseling process, and what sessions may look like going forward. You are invited to share concerns, goals, and relevant background at a pace that feels comfortable. The session often includes discussing what you hope to gain from counseling and collaborating on next steps. Overall, the first session is about building rapport, establishing trust, and laying the foundation for future work together.
Because trust is a key part of the counseling process, I incorporate my animals as an additional source of comfort into sessions. They help clients feel more at ease, encourages engagement, and often becomes a bridge that allows clients to open up more freely.
For over 20 years I have supported children who face behavioral challenges, ADHD, anxiety, depression, developmental delays, trauma, learning disabilities, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I understand that every child is unique, and I take a personalized, compassionate approach to create a safe and supportive environment where healing and growth can flourish. I am dedicated to building strong, trusting relationships with both children and their families. By partnering closely with parents, I provide practical tools and strategies that promote resilience, confidence, and positive change at home and in school. My counseling approach blends elements of animal‑assisted therapy with evidence‑based techniques, delivered with empathy and understanding. I aim to help children develop healthy coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and thrive in all areas of their lives. If your child is facing emotional or behavioral challenges, I would be honored to provide guidance, support, and hope for a brighter future.

During a counseling session you can expect a supportive and structured experience focused on learning and understanding. I provide information about emotions, behaviors, mental health symptoms, or life challenges, helping you see how these factors affect your thoughts and actions. Sessions often include discussion, practical examples, and simple skill-building strategies yoy can use in everyday life. The goal is to empower you with knowledge, increase self-awareness, and build confidence in managing challenges more effectively.
Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)
My approach helps children reduce negative behaviors by strengthening their bond with caregivers and skill building. The child learns to not only to identify their feelings but also how to self-regulate.
