About me

Hello! My name is Rachel Fondren and I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and private independent practitioner. I graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelors in Social Work and from the University of Southern California with a Masters in Social Work. Over the years, I have worked with individuals on a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, personality disorders, trauma, career challenges, OCD, ADHD, and Serious Mental Illnesses.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I focus on getting to know you and what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, your personal history, and any goals you’d like to work toward. This session is also a chance for you to get to know me, ask questions, and see if therapy feels like a good fit for you. By the end, we’ll begin identifying your main areas of focus and setting a direction for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is the balance between creating a warm, supportive environment and using evidence-based strategies to help clients reach their goals. I draw from approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and mindfulness practices to help clients develop practical skills they can use outside of sessions. At the same time, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship, because I believe lasting change happens when clients feel truly heard and understood. Clients often share that they leave sessions with both greater insight and concrete tools they can put into practice right away.

I absolutely loved my first meeting with her. I felt like she defiantly was the therapist that I've been looking for and feel like she's an outstanding fit for me. She was very warm, open minded, and intelligent. She was very informative and educational. I felt very comfortable with her and safe. Very blessed to have found her. Look forward to be working with her moving forward.

When I was looking for a therapist I wanted someone who utilized DBT and Trauma informed therapy. I’ve only met with Rachel once but when we discussed what I wanted she was on board and had other great suggestions. For the first time in a while I’m hopeful and believe she will be a good fit for my healing journey.
