Hello, my name is Julie and I have been in practicing clinical social work for over 20 years. I am dedicated to supporting individuals navigate personal and professional challenges with compassion, clarity and offer practical tools for coping. I blend humor with evidence-based practices. I work with adults ages 18 to 90 plus and families facing concerns such as stress, anxiety, life transitions and relationship issues. I am down to earth and holistic in my approach. My main approach is client centered, collaborative and grounded in evidence- based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy( CBT), strength based therapy and mindfulness techniques to help clients understand and recognize how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors impact the way they think, feel and act. We can use that knowledge to recognize patterns which will help to change your life in a positive way. When you are ready to leave your stress and discomfort behind, I am prepared to help you. Schedule the first session and begin the process. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult time or looking for deeper self awareness I am here to walk alongside of you in this process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our initial session together, we will start with brief introductions. Discuss how CBT can benefit you in your life journey to heal and lead the life you want to have. My belief is that the client knows themselves the best. By listening and asking questions as a team we work together to ensure a better outcome. I will upon request share worksheets that offer suggestions on how to handle issues that impact you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my strengths is having the belief we all deserve to feel good about ourselves. We benefit from self-care and compassion. The importance of knowing we can problem solve to create a better quality of life for ourselves We can learn and embrace coping skills that will help us deal with the challenges we face.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe our thoughts, feelings and behaviors impact how we interact with ourselves and our environment. My approach is strength based. You can change a negative to a positive. You can understand what you have control over to enhance the quality of your life.

Attachment-based

I have worked with individuals across the life span. My background is using CBT to help with anxiety reduction, depression and trauma. Understanding how we think, feel and behave are connected. CBT is evidence based and effective in creating long term positive change. It helps with reduction of negative thinking that often increases depression and anxiety.
