About me

I'm Lyndsey Gilroy, LCSW, and I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship patterns, and major life transitions. My approach is warm and collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based methods like CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and person-centered work. I help clients understand themselves more deeply, break old cycles, build confidence, and develop tools that create real, lasting change. My goal is to offer a safe space where you can feel seen, supported, and empowered to step into a calmer, more fulfilling version of your life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is a comfortable, conversational space where we could get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. I'll ask about your current concerns, your history, and what you're hoping to change and feel differently about. You're always in control of what you share- there's no pressure to dive deeper than what you are ready for.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my therapeutic approach apart is the way I blend evidence-based methods with a warm, grounded, deeply attuned style. I don't offer a one-size-fits-all therapy- I tailor each session to what you need in that moment, whether that's practical CBT tools, deeper psychodynamic insight, or the steady support of person-centered space. Clients often inform me they feel understood and equipped with real strategies that create change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I'm best positioned to support clients who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in old emotional patterns, or weighed down by past experiences. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning but exhausted, constantly overthinking, people-pleasing, or struggling with self-doubt beneath the surface. My ideal clients are motivated for insight and open to doing both reflective inner work and practical skill-building. Whether your goal is to understand yourself more deeply, break generational patterns, strengthen relationships, manage anxiety, or simply feel more grounded in control of your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In our work together, I often use CBT because it's a structured, practical, and highly effective approach for reducing anxiety, managing stress, and creating meaningful change. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. When we learn to identify unhelpful thought patterns and shift them, we can change the way we feel and how we respond to situations.

Psychodynamic

Alongside practical tools, I also incorporate psychodynamic therapy to help clients understand the deeper roots of their emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns. This approach focuses on how past experiences, especially early relationships, shape the way we see ourselves, respond to stress, and connect with others today.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I also draw from person-centered therapy, which means out work together is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and respect for your lived experiences. This approach centers you as the expert in your own life, and my role is to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly.
