Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together we will take the time to get to know each other. We will identify your unique challenges and goals and explore options to pursue your path to mental and emotional well-being. You will leave that first session with a new found sense of relief, glimmers of hope, and a direction for the positive changes ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked in the professional counseling field, education, and wellness industries, I bring a multi-faceted approach to mental wellness challenges. This unique combination equips me to address the diverse aspects of your life. With my ability to empathize and guide you through challenges, foster emotional well-being and bridge the mind-body connection, I am able to implement a tailored approach that can make a meaningful impact in your life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with individuals, particularly women, in various stages of life who may be grappling with uncertain transitions and confronting struggles that accompany these transitions. From uncertain days of young adulthood to challenges of the maturing individual, together we navigate the intricate tapestry of life stages and tackle a myriad of emotional struggles from anxiety and worry to depression and lack of clarity, and everything in between. The journey through therapy becomes a quest for self-discovery and transformation. Together we will unravel the threads of the past, weaving a narrative of growth, resilience, and pursuit of more authentic living.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

You are a unique individual, with your own set of life struggles. Whether feeling overwhelmed by emotions such as sadness, anger, or regret, or experiencing anxiety, over-thinking, depression or low sense of self worth, I have found that drawing on varied techniques from my professional counseling background as well as from my yoga and wellness training, is the most effective method to addressing your particular needs. This multi-faceted approach allows us to work together to help you live a more vibrant life!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Often, we get stuck in unhelpful thought, emotion, and behavior cycle. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a great way to interrupt this cycle. CBT is a psycho-social intervention that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety disorders. This approach uncovers the problematic and habitual thought, emotion, and behavior patterns that prevent you from living a full life. With this awareness you can challenge and re-create more helpful patterns that orient you toward the life you desire.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a type of mindful psychotherapy. When faced with difficult or painful emotions, this approach helps you stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment. The ultimate goal is to help you move forward through difficult emotions with self-compassion and courage. This approach can help you build joy as you navigate suffering.

Really great first session. It didn't feel stilted or difficult at all to jump right into conversation.
