About me

Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and Ohio with over 20 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. My passion is helping individuals who have experienced domestic abuse, trauma, and emotional pain find healing, regain their sense of purpose, and reconnect with their “WHY.” I specialize in supporting clients struggling with symptoms such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, low self-worth, mistrust, and hopelessness. Many of the individuals I work with face challenges in toxic or unhealthy relationships—whether personal or professional—and together we focus on breaking free from these cycles to rediscover inner strength, confidence, and direction. My approach is grounded in the belief that your story has power. I have had the privilege of guiding clients not only through their healing process but also toward sharing their stories—some have even published books that inspire others to seek help and begin their own healing journeys. Working with me, you will find a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can process your pain, explore your strengths, and transform trauma into resilience. I tailor treatment plans to your unique needs and honor you as the expert of your own story. While I may not always have every answer, I will stand beside you as you uncover your own path forward. My goal is to help you heal, re-energize, and embrace your life story with confidence and strength. Together, we can transform emotional pain into empowerment and help you live with renewed purpose and clarity of your “WHY.”

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our initial meeting, we will begin with a concise introduction and then delve into the particular challenges you're facing. This process will enable me to formulate a personalized plan for us to address in follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is helping you find your “WHY” and your purpose through empathy, compassion, and strong listening skills. This allows me to connect with you, help you articulate your thoughts and feelings, and guide you toward becoming your best self. I assist you in examining your beliefs and setting achievable goals that align with your values, so you can live a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. Together, we’ll explore your passions and work toward a life filled with joy, purpose, and empowerment. My mission is to inspire, uplift, and support you in becoming the best version of yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, low self-worth, or symptoms of PTSD. My ideal clients often face challenges from toxic or abusive relationships, whether past or present, and are seeking a safe space to process their experiences. They are motivated to heal, regain their sense of purpose, and reconnect with their “WHY.” My clients want to transform emotional pain into empowerment, rebuild confidence, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling future. If you are ready to reclaim your voice and strength, I am here to support you on that journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice as a therapist, I bring over 20 years of experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients address issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I work collaboratively with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors contributing to their distress. By incorporating CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation, I guide clients in developing practical skills and coping strategies that promote mental well-being and support them in achieving their therapy goals effectively.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

For the past 20 years, I have embraced a Person-Centered approach, creating a therapeutic environment grounded in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. I focus on providing a safe space where clients feel fully accepted and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges at their own pace. By prioritizing the client’s autonomy and self-discovery, I help facilitate personal growth, enhance self-acceptance, and foster meaningful insights that lead to lasting, positive change.

Grief Therapy

In my practice as a therapist, I specialize in grief therapy, supporting individuals through the profound emotional journey of loss. Using a compassionate, client-centered approach, I help clients navigate the stages of grief, process complex emotions, and find meaning in their loss. Through techniques such as narrative therapy, mindfulness, and supportive counseling, I provide a safe space for clients to honor their feelings, adapt to life changes, and ultimately integrate their loss into a renewed sense of self and purpose.

Eclectic

As an eclectic therapist, I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic approaches and techniques, tailored to each client’s unique needs and preferences. By integrating elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness practices, and more, I collaborate with clients to create a customized treatment plan. This flexible approach allows me to address a wide variety of mental health concerns, empowering clients to explore different modalities and discover strategies that best support their personal growth, healing, and overall well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my practice as a therapist, I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients cultivate psychological flexibility and embrace values-driven living. ACT emphasizes mindfulness, acceptance of difficult thoughts and feelings, and commitment to taking meaningful action aligned with personal values. I guide clients in identifying their values, clarifying goals, and developing mindfulness skills to navigate challenges with greater resilience and authenticity. Through ACT, clients learn to relate differently to their thoughts and emotions, fostering a deeper sense of fulfillment, purpose, and well-being.
