I am licensed clinical social worker in Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan with 8 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, family conflicts, trauma, abuse, motivation, self esteem, & confidence. I also have experience working with depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
Our first session would consist of rapport building where I will gather information regarding why you are seeking therapy, goals that you have, and creating action steps. As your therapist I will make you comfortable to share how you feel and provide reassurance that our sessions is your safe space. I will usually provide homework, tools, and or resources to assist you with reaching your treatment goals to assist you in becoming the best version of yourself.
I became a therapist because I believe people are capable of change—and I want to walk with you through it. I’ve worked in a wide range of settings, supporting people who are facing everything from addiction and grief to depression, anxiety, and trauma. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I work with people navigating: severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders, addiction, recovery, depression anxiety, grief, suicidal ideation, stress, adjustment issues, life transitions, family conflict, relationship struggles, behavioral challenges, and trauma
I use CBT with clients by identifying troubling situations, then assisting clients become aware of their associated thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work with the clients to challenge and reframe negative thought patterns, implementing behavioral changes and strategies like exposure and relaxation techniques to solve problems assisting clients develop healthier coping skills. The key exercises include thought journaling, problem-solving, and gradual exposure to fears.
