About me

Hi, I’m Kristen Rose, LCSW. I specialize in helping women navigate anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship challenges through a supportive and structured approach. My style is warm, practical, and collaborative as I blend evidence-based techniques like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and attachment-based therapy to provide both insight and real-life tools. I believe therapy should feel both safe and purposeful, offering space to heal while also equipping you with skills to create meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable and supported. We will spend time talking about what brought you to therapy, what you are hoping to work on, and any questions or concerns you may have. I will also ask about your history and current experiences so I can better understand your needs. Together we will begin shaping goals for our work so you can leave the session with a sense of direction and peace of mind about the process moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is the importance I place on building strong therapeutic rapport. I know that every client’s story and needs are unique, so I tailor my style and methods to fit you rather than expecting you to fit the therapy. While I draw from evidence-based approaches, I focus just as much on creating a safe, collaborative relationship where you feel understood and supported. Clients often tell me that this balance of connection and practical strategies helps them make meaningful progress both in session and in daily life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by self-doubt, or stuck in unhelpful relationship patterns. Many of my clients describe themselves as high-achieving on the outside but exhausted on the inside, always putting others first while struggling to care for themselves. If you are ready for therapy that gives you both support and practical tools, I will help you understand what is driving your stress, build confidence in yourself, and create healthier ways of relating to the people around you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I regularly use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and practice more balanced coping strategies. My experience with CBT includes supporting clients with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem challenges through structured interventions such as thought records, behavioral activation, and cognitive restructuring.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate DBT into treatment to support clients in balancing acceptance with change. Through mindfulness practices, emotion regulation tools, and distress tolerance skills, I help clients increase their ability to stay present and respond more effectively to difficult emotions or relationship stressors. My approach blends these DBT skills with other modalities to create a flexible framework that meets each client’s unique needs.

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR and apply it primarily with clients experiencing trauma and PTSD. My experience includes guiding clients through the phases of EMDR, from stabilization and preparation to processing and installation of adaptive beliefs. EMDR provides an effective framework for reducing the emotional charge of traumatic memories and fostering resilience.

Attachment-based

I incorporate attachment-based approaches to help clients explore how early relationship patterns shape their current sense of safety, trust, and connection. By understanding these patterns, clients can begin to build healthier, more secure ways of relating to themselves and others. This often includes fostering self-compassion, increasing emotional awareness, and practicing new ways of engaging in relationships that support healing and growth.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use solution-focused approaches to help clients identify their strengths, resources, and preferred future. This method allows for brief, goal-oriented interventions that highlight progress and empower clients to build on what is already working in their lives. My experience includes weaving SFBT into both short-term and longer-term therapy to keep sessions hopeful and forward-focused.
