Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy that puts you, the client, at the center of your healing journey. Our therapeutic process begins with a comprehensive exploration of your personal history. This allows us to together understand the unique experiences that have shaped you and the challenges you're currently facing. While we'll work together to start to establish objectives for therapy, you are always the ultimate guide in this process. Your insights, desires, and comfort level are paramount in shaping our therapeutic direction. The initial sessions are also about getting to know each other and beginning to build a strong rapport. Research consistently shows that the relationship between client and therapist is the best predictor of therapeutic success.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am relatable, approachable, and non-judgmental. These traits enable me to establish rapport and help clients feel understood in their struggles. My approachable nature creates a comfortable environment where clients can openly discuss sensitive issues without fear, while my non-judgmental stance fosters trust and encourages vulnerability. Together, these qualities create a safe space for exploration and healing, enabling clients to engage fully in their therapeutic journey and work towards positive change. Most importantly -- I am my genuine self in therapy. These traits aren't just my "therapeutic persona" that I put on while I'm working; I am this person by nature, and it enables me to show clients the genuine care that I have for them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I recognize the vulnerability and strength it takes to decide to start going to therapy and begin making changes. Whether you're a college student struggling with friendships, a young adult managing life and its stressors, a parent of a child experiencing anxiety...it's hard to know where to start. I'm here to help you navigate!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize strength-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I maintain unconditional positive regard for my clients, and offer what I hope will become a safe space for people to talk about difficult things. Together, we will set achievable, measurable goals for your future as well as gaining a better understanding of your past.

Psychodynamic

I often incorporate elements of a psychodynamic approach in session, touching on attachment, relationship, and behavior patterns through the lens of object relations theory and IFS.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I pride myself on my professionalism and experience, but most importantly I have been told over and over again that I am relatable, approachable, and non-judgmental. I tell my clients all the time -- I am the expert in the field, but you are the expert on your own life. I firmly believe that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have.
