New to Grow
Hi, my name is Kate and I've been a therapist for 13 years. I provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment in which you can feel heard and understood. You might just need a safe space to talk about what you’re going through, or process past trauma. Or perhaps you need coping skills to help you manage work stress, relationship problems, or personal issues. Regardless of your presenting issue, I can help you find relief and give you tools to help you navigate your challenges.
During the first session, I want to learn more about what you've been experiencing, what brings you to therapy at this time, and what you'd like to get out of treatment. I want to hear about some of your recent challenges, a little bit about your history, and any other significant information that might be important. There is no pressure to share anything that you are not comfortable with. The main purpose of this session is to establish rapport and see if this is a good fit. I'll also share information about my practice and treatment approaches, and answer any questions you may have.
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Whether you need to heal from past trauma or develop emotional regulation skills, I can offer treatment to help you move forward in your life. I have helped many clients reprocess trauma, reduce levels of activation when triggered, and incorporate healthy coping skills into their lives.
I enjoy working with adults experiencing life transitions, including parenting, job loss, empty nest, retirement, grief and loss, and other significant changes. I also work with clients of all ages who have experienced past trauma and need to heal and move forward in their lives. In addition, I have experience working with clients navigating work stress, family conflict, and relationship problems.

EMDR
I am certified in EMDR and have been using it in my practice for 6 years to help clients reprocess past trauma and reduce anxiety and stress. EMDR is highly effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD and activation levels associated with triggering events.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been incorporating CBT in my practice since 2013. I use CBT to help clients reduce anxiety and distress by identifying negative thought patterns and replacing these with more positive, functional thoughts. If clients are open to doing homework, I can provide worksheets and handouts that can facilitate this process and help clients make meaningful changes in their thought patterns, which can influence feelings and behaviors.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I have been certified in DBT since 2016, and I use this treatment approach to help clients regulate their emotions and improve personal relationships. Some of the tools in DBT include mindfulness, distress tolerance skills, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. If clients are open to homework, I can provide worksheets and handouts to help them learn and incorporate these tools.
Gottman method
I use the Gottman method when working with couples to help them resolve conflict and learn new ways of communicating.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I have been trained in IFS since 2023. I use this approach to help clients identify internal parts (for example, wounded child or protector parts). I also integrate EMDR and IFS, which can be extremely effective in helping client reprocess trauma.
