About me

Hi, I’m Lilly, a licensed therapist and the founder of One Breath Mindset LLC. I specialize in helping individuals and families heal from trauma, anxiety, and life’s challenges using evidence-based approaches like EMDR, CBT, CPT, and TF-CBT. My style is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-focused — I believe in creating a safe space where you can feel supported, discover your resilience, and take meaningful steps toward healing and growth. I provide telehealth services in Illinois and Missouri and in-person sessions at my office location in Missouri.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, my priority is to create a safe and welcoming space where you can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brings you to therapy, and exploring your hopes and goals for our work together. I’ll also explain how the therapy process works, answer any questions you may have, and begin developing a plan that feels supportive and manageable. Most importantly, I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and encouraged that you’ve taken an important step toward healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my therapeutic approach apart is the way I blend evidence-based trauma therapies with warmth and flexibility. I draw from EMDR, CBT, CPT, and TF-CBT, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs and comfort level. Clients often share that they appreciate how I balance practical tools that bring immediate relief with deeper processing that leads to lasting change. My approach is strengths-focused and collaborative — I believe healing happens best when you feel safe, understood, and empowered. Many clients notice not only a reduction in symptoms but also a renewed sense of resilience, confidence, and hope for the future.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are ready to begin healing from trauma, adverse childhood experiences, anxiety, depression, or PTSD, and want support in moving forward with greater peace and resilience. Many of the people I serve feel weighed down by the past, overwhelmed by stress, or stuck in patterns they’d like to change. Whether your goal is to feel calmer, build healthier relationships, process painful memories, or simply learn new ways to cope, I am here to walk alongside you. My approach is collaborative and supportive, helping you set meaningful goals and equipping you with tools to create lasting change.

My treatment methods

EMDR

One of the approaches I use most often in therapy is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This powerful, evidence-based modality helps people process and heal from difficult or traumatic experiences that may still feel “stuck” in the body or mind. EMDR works by gently engaging the brain’s natural healing process so that painful memories lose their intensity and no longer hold the same power over your daily life. Clients often share that EMDR helps them feel lighter, more present, and more in control.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Alongside EMDR, I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), one of the most widely used and effective approaches in therapy. I find CBT especially helpful for clients struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or unhelpful thought patterns that feel difficult to break. In our sessions, I use CBT to help you notice the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we work on identifying patterns that may be holding you back and practice new, healthier ways of thinking and responding. I often incorporate practical tools, worksheets, journaling prompts, and real-life strategies so you can apply what we talk about in therapy directly into your daily life. Many clients appreciate CBT because it provides clear skills and coping strategies that can make a difference right away, while still supporting deeper insight and growth over time. My goal is to make these tools approachable and personalized so they feel doable, not overwhelming.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

In addition to EMDR and CBT, I also use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based approach specifically designed to help people recover from trauma and post-traumatic stress. CPT focuses on understanding how traumatic experiences can shape the way we see ourselves, others, and the world. Sometimes these experiences leave us with unhelpful or painful beliefs such as “I’m not safe,” “I can’t trust anyone,” or “It was my fault.” In therapy, I guide clients through CPT by helping them identify, challenge, and reframe these beliefs so they can begin to see themselves and their experiences in a healthier, more balanced way. I often combine structured CPT exercises with compassionate conversations so the process feels supportive and manageable. Clients frequently share that this work helps them feel more empowered, less stuck in the past, and better able to move forward in their lives. I use CPT when clients want a structured, skills-based approach to trauma recovery, and I adapt it to meet each person’s pace and comfort level. My goal is always to provide a safe space where you can gain insight, practice new perspectives, and begin to experience lasting relief from the weight of trauma.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I also integrate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) into my work, especially when supporting children, adolescents, and families who have experienced trauma. TF-CBT is an evidence-based approach that combines elements of cognitive behavioral therapy with trauma-sensitive interventions. It helps young people process difficult experiences while also building practical coping skills for managing emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. In my practice, I use TF-CBT to create a safe, structured space where children and caregivers can work together toward healing. Sessions often focus on helping youth understand trauma reactions, learn calming strategies, and gradually process their experiences in a way that feels supportive and manageable. With caregivers, I provide tools to strengthen communication, reinforce coping skills at home, and improve the parent-child relationship. What I love about TF-CBT is that it not only reduces trauma symptoms but also fosters resilience, confidence, and a sense of safety. Families often share that this approach helps them reconnect, communicate more openly, and feel better equipped to face challenges together.
