LMHC, 4 years of experience
Hi, my name is Jennifer Miranda, but you can call me Jenn (she/her). I believe that as humans, we often become our own harshest critics, and I am deeply committed to supporting individuals as they disempower that inner critic voice and find new ways to have compassion for themselves. My approach is rooted in compassion and evidence-based practices to help you build a deeper understanding of yourself and develop tools that foster growth. I deeply value taking the time to acknowledge your strengths and wins, as well as creating a collaborative space where we can explore the coping skills you have so you can decide if they are working for you, and if not, we can cultivate new ones. I am licensed in Massachusetts, Illinois, and Utah, and, as a bilingual therapist, I am also happy to support you in your preferred language of English and/or Spanish. I would be honored to walk with you as you embark on your journey.
In our first session together, we'll start with friendly introductions to get to know each other. This time isn't just about me getting to know you, but also you getting to know me. It's like trying on shoes - finding the perfect fit might take some time, but we'll work together to make sure you're comfortable. We'll also chat about what you hope to achieve so we can tailor our sessions to your goals. Please know, you don't have to share anything you're not comfortable with in our first meeting. Your story is yours, and you have the right to share it at your own pace.
As a provider, I believe my greatest strengths lie in creating a warm and safe environment where you feel comfortable to explore your thoughts and emotions. I also bring in humor and coping skills that resonate with you, recognizing that tools are not one-size-fits-all. I enjoy collaborating with you to customize our approach and find the tools that best suit your unique needs and preferences.
My goal is to support and walk alongside you as you begin your journey toward healing. Throughout our time together, you'll find a balance of warmth and humor, as well as a collaborative and nonjudgmental space where you're free to be your authentic self. As a licensed clinician, I specialize in supporting individuals facing perinatal challenges, including postpartum depression and anxiety, as well as those navigating pregnancy and infertility. I also find fulfillment in supporting clients through various life transitions, addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, and fostering self-compassion.
