I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides counseling to adults and couples using a trauma-informed approach. I am trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and I help clients process and heal from complex life experiences. I bring a unique depth of experience to my work, having served 25 years as a police officer and over 13 years supporting first responders through peer support programs. I am also a certified domestic violence counselor with experience working with both adults and children impacted by trauma, and a U.S. Army veteran with four years of active-duty service.
In your first session, you can expect a supportive, confidential space where we begin getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy. I will ask questions to better understand your history, current concerns, and goals, while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Using a trauma-informed approach, my focus is on helping you feel safe, heard, and respected as we begin the process of identifying meaningful goals and a path forward. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the process and collaborate on a plan tailored to your needs.
I utilize a primarily person-centered approach, integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to support meaningful and goal-oriented change. My work is grounded in a collaborative and strengths-based framework that meets clients where they are while encouraging growth and insight. In addition, I incorporate trauma-focused modalities including EMDR, Brainspotting (Focused Mindfulness), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help clients process and heal from past experiences. My overall therapeutic model emphasizes a progression of exploring, challenging, and healing, guiding clients through increased self-awareness, cognitive and emotional shifts, and lasting resolution.
I specialize in individual and couples therapy, working most effectively with clients who are motivated to pursue meaningful change, personal growth, and the resolution of past trauma. My approach is focused on helping clients develop a healthier, more positive outlook on life. I also have extensive experience supporting first responders and combat veterans. I work well with clients seeking to reduce their symptoms and also those wanting to acquire new coping skills.
