Hi there! I'm a Licensed counselor for CO, NC, and DC. I received my Master's Degree in 2007 and have spent a good bit of my career in crisis and residential settings before transitioning to direct care. I help adults who have experienced adverse events and or trauma to heal and begin to live their lives in a more peaceful way.
In our first session together we will complete an intake to help gather valuable information that will guide us in our work together
Having experience in working with trauma and adverse life situations has allowed me to use my skills to help people move past negative experiences that may be holding them back from living a peaceful and productive life
I work best with clients who are navigating the effects of PTSD, trauma, managing ongoing anxiety, moving through grief, or adjusting to challenging adverse life situations. My ideal clients are individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps but are open to exploring their experiences in a supportive space. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in the belief that healing happens when you feel safe, understood, and supported.

EMDR
I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist and have used EMDR to help clients process and heal from traumatic and/or adverse life experiences for the past 4 years and find it extremely effective.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help individuals recognize how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can interact and influence each other to hopefully change the thinking pattern and reduce discomfort.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT on helping individuals manage intense emotions and improve relationships. DBT uses mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to assist individuals with learning how to balance and regulate emotions to ultimately promote balance.

Brenda is authentic and professional. She is easy to relate to and had offered suggestions to support my mental health. She and I have connected over past experiences and I find that she is very relatable. The thing I like the most is that shes realistic. She recognizes that some things are hard or difficult and acknowledges when your are trying your best.

One of the only providers who makes me feel like a person and not a patient. Amazing 🥲 ❤️

She's been awesome! Brenda really takes the time to learn about you and makes sure you're both comfortable before diving into anything. 10/10
