LCSW, 6 years of experience
My name is Mattie, I’m a licensed therapist who helps people who seem to have it all together on the outside but are struggling on the inside. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction, and I know how overwhelming it can feel to ask for help when you’re used to keeping it together for everyone else. Many of my clients come to me because they’re tired of overthinking, struggling in their relationships, or feeling weighed down by sadness or substances. My goal is to help you find relief, build practical skills, and create lasting change so you can show up in your life with more clarity, confidence, and peace.
Our first session is about getting to know each other. I’ll take time to learn about your history, what’s been weighing on you, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. At the same time, you’ll get a feel for me and my style so we can decide if we’re the right fit. By the end of that first meeting, my clients often feel a sense of relief—like they don’t have to carry everything alone anymore. We’ll start identifying clear goals and talking through how we can approach them together, so you leave knowing therapy will be structured, supportive, and effective.
What makes me effective as a therapist is my balance of empathy and directness. I use a range of approaches—CBT, DBT, somatic work, and parts work—to tailor therapy to what you need most. I’m not the type of therapist who just listens and nods. I’ll challenge you when needed, support you when it’s hard, and give you tools that actually help you change your life.
The people I work best with are driven, self-aware, and often “high-functioning” on the surface, but they know something inside isn’t working. They may be stuck in cycles of overthinking, hiding their struggles behind success, or using substances or distractions to cope. My clients don’t just want someone to listen; they want real tools to change the way they think, feel, and respond to life. Whether you’ve tried therapy before or this is your first time, I work with people who are ready to move past surface-level conversations and finally see meaningful progress.
I use EMDR to help clients process unresolved memories, trauma, and negative beliefs that still impact their relationships, confidence, and self-worth. Through guided bilateral stimulation, we reduce the emotional charge of past events so you can respond to the present with more clarity, ease, and self-trust.
I use somatic therapy to help clients reconnect with their bodies, release tension, and regulate emotions stored physically. This approach builds awareness of how anxiety, stress, and past experiences show up in the body, so you can feel calmer, more grounded, and in control during dating, intimacy, and everyday life.
I use CBT to help clients identify and change the unhelpful thought patterns that drive anxiety, avoidance, or low confidence. We work together to replace self-defeating beliefs with realistic, empowering perspectives — so you can take action, communicate effectively, and create the relationships and life you want.
