LMHC, 10 years of experience
I will like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a licensed mental health therapist. I want to tell you a little about myself and my fieldwork experiences. I worked in this field for several years, along with various training, to assist clients in different areas. In the last several years, I worked in a mental health hospital with adolescents, substance abuse, and crisis intervention in various settings. People with trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia were some of the people I helped at work. I worked with individuals on career choices to increase their career paths to maximize success. I support individuals in their desire to become independent, and I do this by helping them identify their true potential.
Your first session is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming space where you can share your story at your own pace. Through the narrative approach, we will explore the unique experiences and challenges that have shaped your life, paying close attention to your strengths, values, and hopes for change. During this initial meeting, I will invite you to talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. We’ll focus on understanding the problems you are facing—not as labels, but as challenges you are experiencing, separate from your identity. You are the expert on your life, and my goal is to collaborate with you, helping you make sense of your experiences and identify alternative perspectives or possibilities. At the end of our session, we will discuss your goals for therapy and outline some next steps, ensuring you feel heard, respected, and supported as we begin this journey together.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my deep experience working with adults facing complex mental health challenges, including trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. I am attentive and adaptable, using evidence-based methods to meet each client where they are in their unique journey. Clients often share that they feel truly seen and heard in our sessions, as I prioritize building a trusting, nonjudgmental relationship that allows for genuine healing and growth. My approach is grounded in empathy and respect, and I am skilled at helping individuals navigate even the most intense emotions and symptoms. Through a combination of proven therapeutic strategies and personalized care, I strive to empower clients to find stability, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.
I specialize in providing compassionate mental health therapy to adults who are navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and OCD. My ideal clients may experience feelings of overwhelm due to persistent worries, sadness, difficulties with attention or focus, or repetitive, distressing thoughts and behaviors. Many people are seeking a safe and supportive space to explore their emotions, understand their patterns, and develop more effective coping strategies. Whether you are motivated to find relief from intense symptoms, striving for greater emotional balance, or hoping to improve your daily functioning and relationships, I am here to help. I welcome adults who are curious about personal growth, open to new approaches, and eager to work collaboratively toward deeper self-awareness and meaningful transformation. My practice is grounded in respect for each individual's unique journey, and I am dedicated to helping my clients cultivate resilience and move forward with confidence.
Individuals initially hesitant to seek treatment may succeed with Motivational Interviewing (MI), a counseling method designed to help clients overcome ambivalence and resistance to change. MI can benefit users by assisting them in accepting responsibility for their own lives and the outcomes of their behaviors. Additionally, clients can develop confidence and faith in themselves through MI, and learn to make better decisions. By visualizing a future free of substance misuse and mental health issues, clients can better understand the potential outcomes of their desired life changes with the support of MI. Furthermore, MI can aid in lowering the likelihood of relapse and assist clients in finding new motivations to maintain sobriety when they feel stuck in their long-term recovery.
