About me

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply looking for support in navigating life’s challenges? This is more common than you might think. You’ve already taken an important first step by being here. I’m Lance, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and doctoral candidate with over ten years of experience helping people find balance, clarity, and practical strategies for managing life’s ups and downs. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, creating a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore solutions that work for your life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy and what matters most to you right now. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to understand your experiences and priorities, and together we’ll start identifying goals that are realistic and meaningful. My goal is that you leave feeling supported, hopeful, and clear about how we can work together to create positive change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

- Connection & Collaboration - Specialized Expertise: Chronic illness, caregivers, neurodegenerative conditions (including Parkinson’s), older adults, working professionals, culturally responsive/LGBTQ+ affirming care - Evidence-Based Approach: SFBT, CBT, trauma-informed strategies - Results-Oriented: Clients leave feeling heard, empowered, and equipped with practical tools. - Flexible & Accessible: I offer non-traditional timeslots that work for caregivers and busy professionals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I seek to help anyone looking for support in navigating life’s challenges, but I have specialized experience working with: - Individuals with Parkinson’s disease or other neurodegenerative conditions - Caregivers and care partners supporting someone with Parkinson’s or other neurodegenerative conditions - Individuals and families coping with chronic illness or new medical diagnoses - Professionals managing stress, burnout, or life transitions - Clients facing grief, loss, or medical trauma - Older adults navigating aging - Clients seeking culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming care

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I help clients set clear, achievable goals and focus on practical solutions. This approach works well if you’re a caregiver or care partner, managing a chronic illness, or going through life transitions and want strategies that deliver.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps you recognize and modify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. It’s especially effective for managing stress, anxiety, or depression, common challenges faced by caregivers and those adapting to chronic illness.

Trauma Informed Care

I provide trauma-informed support for those experiencing stressful or overwhelming situations. This includes burnout, post-traumatic stress, or other difficult life events. Together, we will process these experiences safely, focusing on healing and building resilience.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT helps couples and families strengthen emotional bonds. If caregiving, illness, or life changes have impacted your relationships or intimacy, this approach supports you in understanding emotions, communicating effectively, and reconnecting with your partner or loved ones.

Multicultural

I provide culturally responsive and affirming care that respects your identity, background, and lived experiences. This includes support for LGBTQ+ individuals, caregivers/care partners, and clients from historically marginalized communities. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself.
